Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-EPIMS-SON-61903-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Mazzocco Winery. The project is limited to removing and regrading unauthorized areas of vineyard development to remediate and restore stream channels and connected wetlands. The project also includes removal and replacement of two unapproved culverts with appropriately sized and aligned culverts. The existing culverts to be removed include a 24-inch diameter, 29-foot-long corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert and a 24-inch diameter, 20-foot-long CMP culvert. The replacement culverts will include a 48-inch diameter, 40-foot-long CMP culvert and a 48-inch diameter, 20-foot-long CMP culvert. Installation of the replacement culverts will include placement of new riprap at the inlets and outlets. Impacts on streams and connected wetlands that are not being restored in-place will be offset with on-site restoration. In addition to the 2,706 square feet permanently impacted by the unauthorized vineyard development, the project will result in permanent impacts to approximately 235 square feet of riparian habitat from installation of new riprap around replacement culverts and approximately 11 linear feet from the installation of a replacement culvert that is longer than the existing culvert. No temporary impacts to riparian habitat will occur as the habitat was already removed as part of the unauthorized work described above. No trees will be removed as part of this project. Access and staging will occur in existing vineyard roads and already developed staging areas.
