Document Description
Up to 100,000 cubic yards will be dredged over a 10-year period from within the Project footprint. These areas will be mechanically dredged via clamshell bucket or excavator to -20 to -50 feet Mean Lower Low Water with an additional 2 feet of overdredge allowance in all areas. The dredged sediment may be disposed or beneficially reused at a variety of approved sites, including at Montezuma Wetlands Restoration Project to restore tidal wetlands for the endangered Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse and other endangered species.

Reasons for Exemption
Under §15301 and §15304(g) this project is Categorically Exempt because the dry dock facility is already in place and in use, and deferred maintenance dredging will be a minor alteration. Dredging adjacent to the existing facility does not involve expansion of existing or former use of the facility, or removal of any trees.
