Document Description
The SamTrans North Base supports all of the maintenance and repair needs of the San Mateo County Transit District's bus fleet, and is made up of multiple facilities that serve specific roles, such as break inspection, tire replacement, bus washing, etc. Three of these facilities are connected to both fire water and domestic water service, while another three are only connected to domestic water service. The water lines are at the end of life. The firewater line has suffered multiple leaks, causing it to be removed from service. This project intends to replace approximately 5,000 linear feet total of underground piping comprising both the fire water and domestic water lines, with connections from the existing backflow preventers to the existing connection points at each facility. Existing fire hydrants would likewise be replaced with new hydrants.
