Document Description
The project will construct approximately 1,160 ft to 36-42 inch tall two rail fence made of composite material 18 inches from face of curb along the east parkway of Rancho Santa Fe Road from Lone Jack Rd, to south of 13th Street. Installing this fencing will promote multi-modal transportation alternatives and better delineate the path from the roadway. The Rancho Santa Fe Road Trail is well used by school children heading to and from Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School and Diegueno Middle School - in addition to walkers, equestrians, and bikers throughout the community.

It has been determined that the proposed project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEA) pursuant to Section 15301(c) of the CEQA Guidelines. This section exempts projects characterized as maintenance of existing public facilities, involving negligible or no expansion of existing use. The types of existing facilities include bike and pedestrian trails. The proposed project meets the above criteria for this exemption. None of the exemptions in Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines are applicable to the project.
