Document Description
Geotechnical borings and utility potholing are proposed to support design of the Bridge 85 replacement project. Approximately four borings and potholes will be completed within the existing roadway, bridge abutments, shoulder, and ephemeral ditch using truck mounted drill and vacuum equipment. Borings will be approximately 4 to 8 inches in diameter and will be backfilled and restored to pre-existing conditions following completion. All work will occur within existing County right of way and will not impact traffic operations.

The project consists of geotechnical borings and utility potholing to collect subsurface
information, resulting in minor. temporary disturbance that will be restored to pre-existing conditions. The project qualifies for a
Class 6 Categorical Exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15306 (Information Collection) and Class 4 under Section
15304(f) (minor trenching and backfilling). The activity will not result in a serious or major disturbance to environmental
resources, and no exceptions under CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply.
