Document Description
Caltrans proposes repairing a failed culvert and slope on SR-35 in San Mateo County at post mile d29.08. Due to the winter storms, the corrugated metal pipe (CMP) has failed near the top of the slop and has eroded soil from a previous rock slope protection (RSP) repair, resulting in a void in the slope of about 3 feet wide by 10 feet long by 6 feet deep, about 180 cubic feet, largely along and under the damaged CMP. The failures are impacting private property owners directly down slope along Higate Drive, who have had to dig trenches on their property to divert the errant runoff away from their home. The project will apply traffic control systems and temporary slope stabilization, perform clearing and grubbing activities, remove dirt and debris from the slide area, rebuild the slope, replace drainage, install permanent erosion control, install replacement planting, and reinstall right of way (ROW) fence and guardrail.
