Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article 19 – Categorical Exemptions, Sec. 15311, Class 11 – Accessory Structures of the CEQA Guidelines, which specifically exempts projects which involve the “construction or placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings.” The proposed project falls under this Class 11 exemption as the site is already developed with an existing warehouse and retail building, of which the exterior storage racks and order pick-up lockers proposed to be installed would be accessory to.
