Document Description
Caltrans proposes to permit CalFire to conduct a prescribed burn within portions of State Highway right-of-way located along State Routes 101 and 156 in San Benito County, between Mile Posts 3.0/4.4 and 5.4/7.5 on northbound SR 101 and between Mile Posts 0.0/2.0 on westbound SR 156. The purpose is to reduce fuel loading to minimize fire risk. CalFire will create fire control lines using hand tools, and cut and pile or crush tall fuels prior to burning to ensure combustion.
