Document Description
Caltrans approves of the encroachment permit for Shell Pipeline Company to perform standard maintenance, inspection, and repairs on its existing pipeline located on Caltrans right-of-way by El Segundo Blvd. and PCH (HWY 1 - N. Sepulveda Blvd) at post mile (PM) 24.92 in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles. The scope of work is excavation, repair, backfill, and compaction of the excavation area in accordance with State standards. Upon confirming the pipeline's location and any other utilities, excavate to a depth of 48 inches, an average width of 72 inches, and a maximum length of 12 feet to expose Shell's pipeline safely. All work will be performed by contractor personnel who are operator-qualified to work on hazardous liquid pipelines to assess the condition of the exposed pipeline segment and perform necessary repairs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
