Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SHA-65698-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Deanna Ericson.
The project is limited to the installation of a sanitary sewer service line connecting one existing residence to an existing City of Redding wastewater manhole via an open-trench crossing of an ephemeral stream channel. The channel is approximately 3 feet wide with negligible incision and gently-sloped banks covered with grass. Construction will include excavation of a 24 inch wide open trench perpendicular to the stream alignment. Bank-to-bank measurement is approximately 15 linear feet. The 4 inch service lateral will be encased with a 20 feet long 6 inch or 8 inch PVC sleeve to protect the pipe in the case of unusual amounts of channel incision. The excavation will be backfilled with native materials and compacted to at least 90 percent relative compaction. Pipe is expected to have approximately 3 feet of cover in the location of the bottom of the channel. Construction to be performed during dry conditions. Construction best management practices will include spreading of sterile wheat seed, then placement of between 2 inches and 4 inches of weed-free straw to protect the seed, and prevent significant rain drop erosion. Construction will commence once the stream is dry. No permanent impacts are expected following re-vegetation of disturbed areas. Temporary impacts include disturbance of soil and shrubbery (grasses) within the impact area, which is approximately 20 feet of stream channel, 15 feet wide (bank-to-bank). Additional minor disturbance may occur due to equipment crossing in the vicinity.
