Document Description
The Lower Olive Grove Restroom at the Lake Piru Recreation Area, owned and operated by United Water Conservation District (District), needs repair to restore the original functionality of the facility. The drain system within the restroom regularly backs up and floods the restroom. The existing wall-mounted toilets are damaged at the connection to the wall. To address these deficiencies, a repair project has been proposed to repair the facility. Constructed in 1970, the restroom is situated within the Olive Grove campsite and is one of two restrooms and shower facilities serving the site. The work will consist of replacing all nine wall-mounted toilets and repairing the damaged wall connections. In addition, the original cast iron drainpipes within the floor slab will be excavated and replaced. Most of the drainpipe requiring replacement is located within the existing structure and approximately 25 feet of sewer pipe and 11 feet of sidewalk outside the facility also require replacement. The restroom repair will not increase the capacity of the existing facility. These repairs are restricted to restoring the original functionality of the restroom.
