Document Description
The proposed project would consist of three components: one new parking lot, one new agricultural building, and a new football stadium and practice sports field. The proposed project would utilize two parcels for the new parking lot, two parcels for the new football stadium that will also be used as practice fields, and one parcel for the new agricultural building. The parking lot would be approximately 1.97 acres and provide approximately 121 parking spaces, including 114 standards parking spaces and 7 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking spaces. The parking lot would be adjacent to the new stadium and practice fields, with vehicular access provided via Elliot Road. The proposed agricultural building would be a 1,728-square-foot (sf) barn with eight stalls for livestock and would include 7,728 sf of landscaping and concrete hardscape. An Odor Management Plan would be implemented to minimize any odors that would result from the operation of the agricultural building. The proposed stadium and practice field would make up approximately four acres of the project site and would consist of the construction of a new field, PA system, bleachers, concession stand, and restrooms. The PA system would consist of four speakers and be used for games and school events. The bleachers would be located on the northern and southern sides of the proposed field. The proposed bleachers would have a capacity of 2,500 spectators, with 1,500 spectators on the home/northern side of the field, and 1,000 spectators on the visitors/southern side of the field. No existing structures would be demolished and no changes to the student capacity or number of staff would occur as a result of the proposed project.
The proposed improvements at Paradise HS may be used for sporting events, practices and other school events. Sporting events and practices are anticipated to consist of tackle football, girls and boys soccer, track and field, and band. The athletic field would be anticipated to be utilized throughout the year for school events and non-school events until dusk, as required by the PUSD Policy 1330, Use of School Facilities, and the Civic Center Act. Facilities would be available to outside user groups to utilize the athletic field until dusk. The District would have the authority to use the athletic field for practices and events based on specific needs; thus, the event schedule may be adjusted for different school and community events.
