Class 3 consists of construction and located of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures including but not limited to accessory (appurtenant) structures, patios, swimming pools, and fences. The project includes three retaining walls and a deck structure, and though the existing single-family dwelling is designated as a historic resource within the City's Official Register, the project does not alter or modify the character-defining features of the historic house the deck and retaining walls are detached from. The project does not include alterations to the main dwelling, no protected trees are proposed for removal and will be preserved, and yard walls and concrete flat work are exempt from historic preservation review as they are deemed to not affect the historic integrity of the structure.
