Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 2; California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15302
Reasons for Exemption
Replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. This project seeks to replace two existing stream crossing structures with similar structures that are appropriately designed, aligned, and sized to meet 100-year flow capacity. They will be located in the same place with the same purpose and capacity as the replaced structures. This project is necessary to minimize ongoing impacts from sediment delivery to the stream systems and avoid risk of catastrophic failure of the existing structures. As carried out in accordance with the Agreement, this project poses no significant adverse impacts to endangered, rare, or threatened species or their habitat, and no significant effects on the environment.
