Caltrans approves the encroachment permit for Charter Communications to install fiber optic cable within Caltrans right-of-way (ROW) along State Route 1 at Post Mile (PM) 19.19, and to perform traffic control activities in the City of Redondo Beach, Los Angeles County. The proposed work will involve jack-and-bore operations to install 22 feet of 3-inch fiber optic cable conduit and tying it into an existing handhole for the underground placement of the cable. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 54 inches. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new ROW will be acquired.
