The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District (Ag + Open Space) is conducting springtime fire abatement mowing on the following Ag + Open Space-owned properties: Dogbane Preserve, Haroutunian South, Oken, Paulin Creek Preserve, Young Armos, Keegan & Coppin, and Saddle Mountain Open Space Preserve. The purpose is to reduce the fire risk of excessive vegetative growth. The work involves conducting bird-nesting surveys, identifying any sensitive areas to avoid, and mowing and/or weed-whipping limited portions of each property.

The project is exempt pursuant to Section 15301 of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations because the project consists of maintaining the properties to reduce the risk of fire through mowing vegetation within select portions of each property.
