Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division (SJFD) plans to replace flow meters located on the Buena Vista Pumping Plant (BVPP) discharge lines. This work would involve the construction of four above ground conduit lines running between discharge lines 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, and 7 and 8. Each line is estimated to be around 55 feet long. The above ground conduit lines would run on concrete sleepers. No excavation is anticipated for this project.
To complete this work, a roller would be used to compact the riprap along the discharge lines. A skit steer would be used to bring in decomposed granite or pea gravel. This material would be spread over the riprap to create a more walkable area. Scaffolding would be placed across and along the discharge lines. Rocks would be moved by hand to place scaffolding.
All equipment would be staged within the paved areas surrounding the BVPP. All work would take place within the DWR right-of-way. This work is necessary to provide water for California.
