Document Description
Westside Aggregates, Inc., is seeking a Use Permit and Reclamation Plan approval to develop, operate, and reclaim, an aggregate mining operation. Project operations would include excavation, processing, and washing of mined materials and transport offsite to regional construction projects. The project site consists of an approximately 200-acre area that includes the following operational components: (1) An approximately 23-acre “Plant Site,” where the mined materials would be processed; (2) Five "Excavation Areas," ranging in size from approximately 3 to 58 acres, with a depth of approximately 40 feet below the ground surface; (3) A series of settling ponds; and (4) an approximately 3- to 5-acre water supply pond. The project would provide for the extraction of an estimated 9.5 million tons of aggregate resources. The project is seeking flexibility in annual exports and is therefore proposing maximum annual exports of up to 2,000,000 tons per year, with a project duration ranging from 5 to 30 years. Upon completion of mining, the project site would be reclaimed to uses similar to existing: prime farmland, rangeland, and open space.
