Document Description
Compton Creek Phase Ill Trail Project will construct a new 0.75-mile multi-use trail along the western bank of Compton Creek in the high-need unincorporated community of Willowbrook. The trail will run parallel to the County Parks' existing trail on the eastern barik of the creek, extending from 118th Street to El Segundo
Boulevard. Upon completion, Phase Ill will create a 1.5-mile "wellness loop," offering residents a safe and inviting space to exercise along an urban waterway, away from busy streets, while promoting both physical activity and mental well-being.
The project will include a decomposed granite trail surface, drought-tolerant landscaping featuring native California plant species and shade trees, and stormwater best managemerit practices (BMPs) for water collection and filtration, Additional amenities will consist of seating areas, interpretive signage, mile markers, enhanced fencing, civic art installations, and decorative access gateways, further strengthening the community's connection to the natural environment.
