Document Description
The County of Riverside Transportation Department proposes to widen Hammond Road and 70th Avenue a total of 18 feet. Each side of the road would be widened by 9 feet, providing new 5-foot-wide bike lanes with 4-foot-wide buffers in each direction between the intersections of Hammond Road and 2nd Street to the north and 70th Avenue and Sea View Way to the southeast. An existing bridge over the Wasteway No. 1 Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel (Coachella Valley Water District), just east of Cleveland Street, would be widened to accommodate the new buffered bike lanes. Roadway safety and maintenance improvements would be implemented as necessary for the project.
