Document Description
A Site Development' Permit (SDP) to allow relocating eight existing concrete fire rings from South Mission Beach to Mission Bay Park. The eight South Mission Beath fire rings, six seasonal rings available May to October each year and two permanent rings available year-round, will be moved to the following areas: two fire rings will be located on the east and west sides of Bonita Cove, and six fire rings will be in Fiesta Island. The eight relocated fire rings will be available year round. The project area is located within the following zones and overlays: MBPD-R-S Base Zone, San Diego International Airport Land Use Compatibility Overlay Zone (ALUGOZJ; Sensitive, Coastal Overlay Zone (SCOZ-B), Mission Beach Community Planning Area, Council District 2, and Coastal Overlay Zone. District 1.

Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review that determined the project would not have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15311 (Accessory Structures) which consists of construction, or placement of-minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities; and where the exceptions listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 would not apply in that no cumulative Impacts were identified; no significant effects on the environment were identified; the project is not adjacent to a scenic highway; no historical resources would be affected by the action; and the project was not identified on a list of hazardous waste sites pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code. The site is not Included on any list compiled pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 for hazardous waste sites.
