Document Description
Caltrans proposes repairing flood damage to the Manzanita Maintenance Building off Highway 1 in Marin County at PM 0.05. Significant kind tides in Marin County in January caused major flooding on Highway 101 and in low-lying areas and flooded the Maintenance Station at Manzanita. The water rose to 3 feet high and caused water damage to the interior and exterior walls, ceiling, roof, and electrical lines of the maintenance building. Work will require cleaning up of the entire building to ensure the safety of all affected areas, removing and replacing sub-floors, drywall, insultation, and vinyl flooring, repairing and replacing metal roofing and exterior siding. The project will involve cleaning up bio-hazards and mold in the building. The project will also remove and replace the water damaged sub-floors, 4-foot high drywall, insulation, and vinyl flooring. The interior walls will be repainted and the exterior siding will be replaced. The metal roofing that was lifted off by the water will be repaired and replaced.
