Document Description
The County of Sonoma has proposed the 2024-25 storm damage repair project on Wohler Road (Postmile 10.24), located near Forestville, California. The Project will be funded by local funds and undertaken by the Sonoma County Department of Public Infrastructure. The purpose of the Project is to repair a portion of Wohler Road at approximately Postmile 10.24 that failed during the 2024-25 storms and flooding. The County proposes to repair approximately 500 feet of roadway along Wohler Road. The project proposes to construct storm damage slide repair work along Wohler Road adjacent to Mark West Creek at Post Mile 10.24. The work includes installing a 500 feet length by 50 feet depth interlocking sheet pile wall with concrete pile cap along the roadway. The new wall will be placed approximately 2 feet offset from the previously existing “fog line” stripe along the road and will be used to support the roadway and prevent further erosion. Other related items of work include excavating native soil and establishing subgrade benching, placing rock slope protection, drainage improvements, metal beam guard rail, delineators, erosion control measures, and finally reconstructing the roadway structural section of aggregate base and asphalt concrete for about 100 linear feet of roadway, fog sealing the entire roadway with an asphalt emulsion, and finally restriping the centerline and fog-lines. New RSP will be limited to above the Ordinary High-Water Mark. Limited tree trimming and removal of 1 bay tree is also required to facilitate the work. Utility poles will be relocated prior to construction. The project will include riparian restoration and RSP previously placed as part of the temporary emergency repair will be removed with this project as well. The project has 80 working days, which is a construction duration of roughly 4 months.
