Document Description
The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (hereinafter SCVWA) proposed Project includes an addition of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) treatment system for Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs) removal to the existing Well V201's site with existing Ion Exchange (IX) treatment for perchlorate removal from the raw water of Well V201. The capacity of Well V201 is 2,000 gpm. The effluent from the IX vessels will receive chloramination treatment at the Disinfection Facility onsite. The Well V201 Treatment Facility includes two bag filter trains (four bag filter units total), one GAC treatment train (two GAC vessels total, operated in parallel configuration), one existing IX treatment train (two IX vessels in total, operated in lead-lag configuration). The existing Disinfection Facility includes existing sodium hypochlorite and liquid ammonium sulfate (LAS) storages, and additional chemical feed systems installed for both sodium hypochlorite and LAS. All treatment facilities are equipped the associated electrical equipment, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and water quality measuring equipment.
