Reasons for Exemption
The updates to the Irvine Zoning Ordinance and Irvine Municipal Code are exempt
pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), which provides that CEQA only applies to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment and does not apply where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility of a significant effect. The updates are limited to the modification of the Irvine Zoning Ordinance and Municipal Code provisions which will not directly result in any development.
