Document Description
The Alameda County Public Works Agency project involves upgrading existing curb ramps for ADA compliance, installing 18 rapid rectangular flashing beacons (RRFBs) at marked crosswalks, and adding yield line markings and high-visibility crosswalk striping at intersections of Meekland Ave/Medford Ave, Meekland Ave/Sunset Blvd, and Grove Way/Haviland Ave in the Cherryland area; Ashland Ave/Bertero Ave and 164th Ave/Helo Dr in the Ashland area; Grove Way/Dolores St and Norbridge Ave/BART Entrance in the Castro Valley area; Hacienda Ave/Ricardo Ave in the San Lorenzo area; and D St/Twin Creeks Ct in the Fairview area. Work includes removal of approximately 180 square feet of curb ramp and sidewalk, 7.4 cubic yards of concrete/subbase excavation, and 1.11 cubic yards of soil excavation. All BMP/water pollution control measures will be implemented, and all work will occur within the existing public right-of-way. The purpose of the project is to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility through ADA-compliant upgrades and improved crosswalk visibility.
