Document Description
The proposed project would demolish three existing buildings located at the southwest portion of the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) campus, including the CMU Building (E2), the Athletics Building (F2), and the Gymnasium (G2). The proposed project would also demolish the swimming pools and associated facilities on the project site. The proposed project would develop a new Advanced Transportation & Manufacturing Building (ATM Building) in the area of the campus that contains the buildings and facilities proposed for demolition. Upon completion of the new ATM Building, the existing programmed space in the ATM Building (B1) would be decommissioned, with the exception of two small existing academic programs that would remain in a portion of the building. The building’s rooftop parking would also remain in use. In addition, the entire Central Building (E1) would be decommissioned as part of the proposed project. The proposed project would also include a minor update to the LATTC Facilities Master Plan to remove the buildings to be demolished and add the new replacement building. The proposed project would not result in any increase in student or employee capacity at LATTC.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would replace existing campus structures and facilities with a new structure located on the same site. The new ATM Building would not increase the student or employee capacity of the campus in any way. Additionally, the proposed project would decommission the existing ATM Building and Central Receiving Building, ensuring no expansion of capacity. Therefore, the project meets the criteria for exemption under Section 15302. The proposed project was also reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2 and it was found that none of the Section 15300.2 exceptions apply.
