Construction of a new two-story Dick's House of Sport and related ancillary outdoor athletic field uses related to store activities on 4.65 acres of land at 100 Los Cerritos Mall, within the Los Cerritos Center previously analyzed in connection with demolition of the two-story former Sears on the site that was the subject of a notice of exemption filed 2/10/2026. Site improvements for the Project include underground utility upgrades, landscaping, deep soil mixing and earthwork, certified pad preparation, enhanced pedestrian connections, and adjustments to the interior ring road.

The proposed construction is part of the Project analyzed by the City of Cerritos and determined to be Categorically Exempt from CEQA under Section 15332, Class 32, as an in-fill development as disclosed in the notice of exemption filed 2/10/2026. The Project is consistent with applicable plans and zoning, substantially surrounded by urban commercial uses, has less than significant transportation, noise, air quality or water quality impacts and provides adequate access to utilities and public services. None of the exceptions to categorical exemptions, set forth in CEQA Guidelines, Section 15300.2, apply to this Project. A Categorical Exemption Memorandum supporting cover letter, and technical studies for the Project are on file at the City of Cerritos Department of Community Development.
