The Project consists of the demolition of the two-story former Sears building and adjoining merchandising building and loading dock at 100 Los Cerritos Mall, within the Los Cerritos Center. The Project analyzed for the categorical exemption further contemplated a potential future replacement of the Sears with a new two-story Dick’s House of Sport and related ancillary outdoor athletic field uses related to store activities on 4.65 acres of land in Cerritos, California. Site improvements for the Project include underground utility upgrades, landscaping, deep soil mixing and earthwork, certified pad preparation, enhanced pedestrian connections, and adjustments to the interior ring road.

A Categorical Exemption Memorandum and supporting technical studies are on file at the City of Cerritos Department of Community Development.
