Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMSSHA-63205-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Raul Nunez. The project is limited to maintenance of a stormwater drainage developed as part of the Kennett Court Apartments. Vegetation removal is required to meet requirements of the City of Redding’s stormwater standards specified in memorandum of understanding agreements. Vegetation will be removed from 325 linear feet of the channel. The average width of vegetation removal is 4 feet within the channel. Two blue oak trees will be retained and preserved (6-inch diameter and 22-inch diameter). Vegetation to be mechanically removed includes a combination of invasive, non-native, and native grasses, shrubs, weeds and juvenile trees including: panic veldtgrass (Ehrharta erecta), broadleaf cattail (Typha latfolia), coyote brush (Baccharis pilularis), juvenile fremont cottonwood (Populus fremonti), and juvenile persian silk tree (Albizia julibrissin). Vegetation removal will occur when the channel is naturally dry (June through September) and is anticipated to occur annually or bi-annually requiring 7 to 14 days to complete each year. Maintenance also includes removal of trash, general landscaping, replacement of rock, and trimming of shrubs and trees along the bank of the channel.
