Reasons for Exemption
Class 1, Section 15301 allows for the repair, maintenance, and minor alterations to existing public school buildings, site facilities, utilities, and paved areas involving negligible or no expansion of use. Improvements include building envelope repairs, ADA and safety upgrades, mechanical and electrical modernization, resurfacing and in-kind replacement of existing site features, and removal of temporary portable classrooms. Class 2, Section 15302 allows for the in-kind replacement of existing facilities on the same site with the same purpose and capacity, which will include the repairs of the existing track and field. Class 4 allows for the minor grading and landscaping, the installation of irrigation and drainage improvements.
