Document Description
DWR will perform surface waves site surveys seismic stations in the San Joaquin Field Division of the State Water Project. Equipment used during the surveys will include seismographs, accessories, and general hand tools. Staff will place the string of geophones along the ground that consist of a sensor in a 5-inch plastic housing attached to a 6-inch metal spike. Active arrays may use a ground impact source by either hitting a metal plate on the ground with a sledgehammer or using an accelerated weight attached to truck to impact the plate.

The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves data collection activities for a safe water supply. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat.
