Document Description
To remove and dispose of the existing 48" CMP gravity flow drainage pipe and appurtenant structures including slide gates, concrete headwall and outfall, and a concrete irrigation box. Other work includes removing trees and stumps within the project work area; removing the existing chain link fence; backfilling and compacting with suitable levee fill material to meet Title 23 Section 120 – Levees; restoring the levee crown and side slopes with aggregate base and asphalt concrete; and seeding the levee slopes with native grasses. The project will also require construction of a widened levee access from Road 45 to allow safe access for construction equipment during construction by removing the existing ramp and regrading.

The Board has determined the project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1, Existing Facilities categorical exemption (CEQA California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15301), because the activity consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use. No expansion of existing or former use will occur. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15300.2 apply.
