Document Description
The purpose of the proposed project is to reintroduce the City and the community to the Sacramento River by creating a long-term vision for 380 acres of public and private land and water along the river. The Redding Riverfront Specific Plan will frame a community vision and establish goals, policies, and development standards to guide public and private development, land stewardship and conservation, roadway and infrastructure projects, and other activities within the study area. Riverfront concept components include, but are not limited to, habitat restoration, active and passive recreation areas, indigenous heritage center, indigenous cultural area, civic venue(s), rodeo arena and staging, visitor hospitality, access and parking, road redesign, riverfront commercial, and existing residential.
