Document Description
The project is to replace/restore existing interior features of the historical ticketing office inside the SP Depot building that were damaged in result of a recent fire. The SP Depot is a nationally registered historical structure. The work entails replacing insulation, drywall, cabinetry, wall paneling and trims as necessary along with the replacement of one exterior wood window with surrounding stucco and the primary entrance door. Any features not significantly damaged will be attempted to be restored and reinstalled. Existing hardwood flooring to be refinished to match previous condition. Some minor electrical interior improvements to be made including the replacement of a light fixture and ceiling fan along with associated switches and outlets. Electrician to also replace several exterior lighting fixtures that melted as a result of the fire and heat damage. For the HVAC system, the thermostat and AC/heat register will be replaced. All interior features replaced will be of like kind material matching grains, texture for the areas altered during the restoration process. Paint/Stain of walls, doors, cabinetry and other wood features to match preexisting color and sheen of the facility. Project also includes pressure washing of the full exterior of the building to remove smoke and soot damage. This repair and restoration project will be performed using the most recent (1995) Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings.
