Document Description
Project proponent and beneficiary Michael Elwood proposes to construct a two-story, 5,138-square-foot garage and storage building in the rear yard of a 0.63-acre lot developed with a single-family residence addressed as 9370 De Camp Drive in the City of La Mesa. The project includes a 445-square-foot second story deck, site grading, a new curb opening and driveway, and conversion of the existing attached single-car garage to living space. A special permit is requested to exceed a one-story/15-foot height limit for detached accessory structures in the R1 (Urban Residential) zone. The project site is located on the north side of De Camp Drive, northwest of the intersection of Manor Drive, in a single-family residential neighborhood. An SDGE substation occupies the adjacent site to the north. The Planned Land Use is Urban Residential. A Special Permit for the project was approved by the City of La Mesa Planning Commission (Resolution No. PC-2025-22) on December 3, 2025. Assessor’s Parcel Number: 486-411-22-00.
