Document Description
The City of Galt proposes to enter into a 12-year Streambed Alteration Agreement with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for routine maintenance activities within improved and unimproved stream channels and drainage facilities and associated habitat areas throughout the City to streamline the permitting process for small-scale routine maintenance activities. The City anticipates completing approximately 20 to 30 maintenance projects a year over the 12-year life of the RMA. Maintenance would primarily involve hand tools for vegetation control and sediment removal efforts but may occasionally involve small pieces of equipment like mini-excavators or backhoes. In addition, the City is planning to implement a larger scale initial clearing effort along a segment of Deadman Gulch to improve flood conveyance capacity.
