Document Description
To repair amenities of the Riverside Park, located in Board Designated Floodway of Kern River. The construction activities will consist of replacing the existing picnic tables, benches, a BBQ, play sand, safety play surfaces, signposts, concrete walkway and slab, a swing set, exercise equipment, electrical outlets, and turf and irrigation system. A wooden shed which housed an irrigation pump was damaged and removed, and a stand-alone pump with a smaller cross-section will be installed at a higher elevation in its place. Existing visible irrigation components will be removed and disposed of by county representatives. Underground pipes and irrigation components shall be abandoned in place. Existing play sand will be removed and retained for turf preparation. New uncompacted play sand will be added to the play area. If possible, existing exercise equipment will be disassembled, washed, coated, lubricated, and reassembled. The existing four-inch sewer will be cleaned out. The backflow preventer will be inspected, cleaned, and re-certified. Signposts will be backfilled with undisturbed adjacent material.
