Document Description
The proposed project consists of three existing bridges proposed to undergo preventive maintenance repairs through Caltrans’ Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program (BPMP). Two of the bridges, on Marin Road and Spruce Road, are within a few blocks of each other, while the third creek crossing, Canyon Road Bridge, is approximately 2.35 miles southwest of the other two. The purpose of the BPMP is to maintain the existing inventory of bridges in good or fair condition, correct structural deficiencies in a bridge's life before requiring costly rehabilitation, and extend the service life of existing bridges. Various improvements and levels of repair are needed for each of the three bridges. Construction work in the creek would be completed during the dry season when the local creek segments are at their lowest flow rates, and the work areas would be dewatered by temporarily diverting potential flows.
