Document Description
Project proposes the construction of waterlines, storage and treatment facilities in Austin Creek State Recreation Area to replace systems lost in the 2020 Walbridge Fire and provide potable water to park visitors and staff. Work will include the following: For the New Water Tank: Remove the existing 1,000 Gallon Poly tank and demolish an existing concrete pad; Grade and compact to pour an approx. 19 ft diameter x 3 ft wide x 4 ft deep concrete ring foundation; Excavate a 2 ft x 2 ft wide x 100 ft long trench for 2-in. distribution and conveyance pipes to carry the water from the tank to the new precast building; Continue 25 ft past the precast building and tie into existing distribution raw water pipes; Between the precast building and an infiltration ditch, excavate a 2 ft x 2 ft x 50 ft long trench and install a 3-in. waste pipe; Erect/assemble steel panels to complete the exterior structure of the 17 ft tall x 19 ft diameter 20,000gallon steel water storage tank; and Excavate for approx. 30 1 ft. x 1 ft x 3 ft deep round concrete fence post footings to install 215 ft of 8-ft tall chain link fence with a 4 ft wide personnel gate. For the New Precast Structure: Excavate approx. 200 square feet to an 8-in. depth to demolish an existing pad; Excavate two (2) areas 18-in. wide x 12 ft long x 2 feet deep to pour two (2) concrete strip footings; Excavate approx. 80 square feet to 8-in. deep to pour a 6-in. concrete pad; and Install the 120 sq.ft. precast concrete structure.
