Document Description
SLOCOG will be the lead agency and will prepare a programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the 2027 RTP, the long-term transportation plan for San Luis Obispo County. The RTP aims to achieve a coordinated, balanced, and multimodal regional transportation system that speaks to improvements and investments in all modes, which include but are not limited to pedestrian, bicycle, public transit, highway, rail, maritime and harbors, goods movement, and aviation. The RTP must be action-oriented, fiscally constrained, and pragmatic, considering both short-term (FY 2027/28-2034/35), mid-term (FY 2035/36-2044/45), and long-term (FY 2045/46-2054/55) periods. The programmatic EIR will consider broad, regional environmental impacts of the programs and projects in the 2027 RTP-SCS; project-specific environmental review would be required prior to implementation of individual projects in the RTP.
