Document Description
The Project will replace the existing Canyon Subdivision Milepost 248.98 Bridge, which consists of a 60-foot-long, 72-inch-diameter corrugated metal pipe. The existing structure will be replaced with a 100-foot-long, 60-inch-diameter smooth steel pipe (SSP) culvert that will be horizontally auger bored (jack and bored) through the existing railroad embankment approximately 6 feet east of and parallel to the existing culvert. The proposed culvert will be stabilized at the inlet and the outlet with riprap. Following construction of the replacement culvert, the existing culvert will be grouted and abandoned in place.
All work will occur within the existing right-of-way. Bridge materials (for example, culverts) will be transported to the project site by truck. Any materials removed from the existing structure will be hauled offsite.
