Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-LAN-61369-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (Permittee), as represented by Jason Lambert. The project consists of removing an existing wooden utility pole (Pole 1813783E), installing a corrugated steel caisson, installing a new composite pole, installing one new plate anchor, and associated overhead work to transfer existing powerlines. The project will result in 0.012-acre of temporary impacts and less than 0.001-acre of permanent impacts to the unnamed tributary to Soldier Creek’s bed, bank, and channel. The 0.013-acre area of combined impacts consists of 0.011-acre of mud sedge – short beaked sedge – seaside arrow-grass fen alliance and 0.002-acre of white alder groves. Project site access will utilize existing earthen and paved roads where crews will access the Project areas on foot. The helicopter landing zone will utilize a developed earthen pull out. Project activities will require vegetation trimming and trampling to facilitate access; tree removal; tree trimming; soil disturbance to develop staging and work areas; helicopter operations to deliver materials; helicopter operations to remove and install utility infrastructure; the removal of Pole 1813783E; excavation; caisson installation; placement of crushed rock and gravel; and anchor installation. The project also includes on-site restoration of 0.013-acre of stream channel and associated habitat that will be temporarily disturbed.
