This project is exempt because the construction activities proposed will only be a minor alteration of the existing facilities and topographical features. The most significant components of this project will be the signing, striping, pavement markings, and the construction of ADA curb ramps. The adjacent commercial and residential properties will not be negatively impacted because there will not be an expansion of the use of the existing facility. The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review as a Class 1 existing facilities project for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14 Section 15301(c).
