Document Description
Caltrans approves the encroachment permit for the United States of America, acting through the Forest Service of the Department of Agriculture, to install a trench measuring 2 feet wide, 2,336 feet long, and 49 inches deep, constructed in accordance with Caltrans trench and bore standards. The distance includes two 205-foot trenchless borings under I-5 at post mile R73.555 in the City of Gorman, County of Los Angeles, as well as to perform any temporary associated traffic control activities. Each boring will be enclosed in a 10-inch steel pipe casing. The minimum vertical clearance for the portion beneath I-5 is 6 feet. Four excavations for trenchless boring end pits will be constructed. The excavation will have a maximum depth of 96 inches, an average width of 24 inches, and a length of 2,336 linear feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project. Tower Co. and Southern California Edison will perform the work.
