Document Description
Caltrans proposes repairing roadway settlement at post mile (PM) 19.64 on State Route (SR-) 82 in San Mateo County. The ongoing settlement at this location is impacting motorists due to the sudden drop experiences when traveling through the area. The depression is approximately 4-6 inches in depth, 10 feet wide, and 48 feet in length across the northbound lanes 1 through 4. The settlement is located adjacent to a box culvert. In addition, a nearby waterline manhole contains a shutoff valve that is currently submerged. The 20 foot by 10 foot box culvert will be inspected using video for potential subgrade infiltration and the existing water line will be checked for leaks that could be contributing to the material loss beneath the roadway. The settlement will then be repaired using polyurethane foam injection to lift the roadway back to its original grade.
