The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using State funds only, proposes to conduct a slab settlement correction project on Interstate (I)-8 and State Route (SR) 125 and 67 in San Diego County. Proposed work includes injecting high-density polyurethane into the road fill underneath the slab. All work will occur within Caltrans state right-of-way (ROW).

The California Department of Transportation has determined the project to be categorically exempt in accordance with section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. Caltrans has determined that this project would have negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, and would have no significant effect on the environment.
