Document Description
The Office of Traffic Design (Civil) has requested environmental clearance for a Minor B project along State Route 405 from post mile 42.2 to 44.9. The project limits begin near Van Nuys extending north toward North Hills and passing Panorama City in Los Angeles County at various locations. The purpose of this Minor B project is to improve roadway safety by installing and upgrading signage, channelizers, delineation, pavement markings, and retroreflective markers at various on- and off-ramp locations along State Route 405. The project is needed to address safety concerns identified through Table C reports, monitoring programs, and district investigations, with the goal of reducing the frequency and severity of collisions on the State Highway System. This state-only funded project includes a maximum soil excavation depth of 4.5 feet for sign installation. No vegetation removal or trimming will be required. All work will take place within Caltrans right of way.
