Document Description
Caltrans proposes installing wildlife fencing and jump-outs at two locations on US-101 in Marin County. The purpose of the project is to enhance wildlife connectivity in the area and reduce the chance of wildlife-vehicle collisions by providing safe passage for animals. The project will discourage wildlife from entering the right of way (ROW) and facilitate their safe exit if they do. The first location of wildlife fencing and jump-outs is on northbound US-101 at post mile 12.4 and the second location is on southbound US-101 from post mile 14.7 to 15.3. Some project elements will occur off the paved roadway. Vegetation removal and clearing and grubbing will be required for construction. All work shall remain within Caltrans ROW and equipment shall be staged within Caltrans ROW in areas absent of vegetation.
