High Desert Detention Center Project Description: Rooftop and carport solar system q Location: 9438 Commerce Way, Adelanto APN: 312926134, 312926133, 312926132, 312926156 Reasons why Exempt: Consists of installing solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs of existing buildings and on carport structures located within existing paved parking lots. The roofs and parking lots have been in continuous use for their current purposes for at least the previous two years, all associated equipment is located on re immediately adjacent to the buildings and parking areas, and no required or native trees will be removed. The Project therefore qualifies for the statutory exemption for solar energy systems under Public Resources Code Section 21080.35, and no exceptions to this exemption apply. 8. High Desert Government Center Project Description: Lighting and mechanical upgrades, 5 EV chargers, rooftop and carport solar system Location: 15900 Smoke Tree Street, Hesperia APN: 040722402 Reasons why Exempt: Consists of energy-efficiency and renewable energy improvements at existing County facilities, including interior and exterior lighting and mechanical system upgrades, installation of five electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and installation of solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs of existing buildings and on carport structures within existing paved parking lots. All work is limited to the operation, repair, maintenance, replacement, and minor alteration of existing public facilities and mechanical equipment, with no expansion of building footprint, parking capacity, or intensity of use, and the Project is therefore exempt under the Class 1 Existing Facilities categorical exemption (14 CCR Section 15301(a)&(d)) and the Class 2 (Replacement or Reconstruction) exemption 14 CCR Section 15302; the rooftop and parking-lot solar facilities also qualify for the statutory exemption for solar energy systems under Public Resources Code Section 21080.35, and no exceptions to the use of these exemptions apply. 9.
